Athletes Of The Week

Neely McElhaney

Senior, Kings Softball

Neely pitched a one-hit shutout against Stebbins to lead Kings to back-to-back District titles. She recorded 15 strikeouts and only gave up one walk.

Jojo Asobo

Junior, Little Miami Track & Field

Jojo is a coach’s dream because she is willing to do whatever the team needs. While her main focus has been the 300 meter hurdles, the Lady Panthers have relied on her as a true utility athlete in any event or relay requiring a strong 400 meters or less. This week at the Division I Super Regional, she earned a spot in next week’s competition by advancing in the 300 meter hurdles. Jojo’s determination, competitiveness, and team-first attitude continue to make her an invaluable part of the program and are always worthy of recognition.

Liam Reininger

Senior, Little Miami Track & Field

Liam came on strong at the end of the season, representing the Panthers in the short sprints. He was a key part of the school record-setting 4x100 meter relay team at the ECC Championships. Liam consistently pushed the pace at practice and took pride in perfecting relay handoffs, helping elevate the entire sprint crew. Unfortunately, his senior season came to an abrupt end when he was injured during practice last week. Even so, Liam’s commitment and positive attitude made a daily impact on the 2026 season.

Taylor Denning and Reilyn Brennan

Turpin Lacrosse

Taylor capped off an incredible career this week with two goals and two assists in a playoff loss to a tough Wyoming team. The senior concludes her career with 247 goals, 87 assists, and 94 caused turnovers, placing her second in all-time ECC scoring. Reilyn also finished off a great career at Turpin. This year, she had career highs in goals with 40 and assists with 25. The senior took a bulk of the draws for the Lady Spartans this season, resulting in 287 draw controls for the team. Both will head to Stetson to play Division I lacrosse this fall.

Noah Towne

Senior, Turpin Track & Field

Noah qualified to Regionals with a fourth-place finish in the 1600. This was only Noah's second time running the 1600 this year, and he has dropped almost 30 seconds in those last two races.

Turpin Girls Track Trio

Turpin Track & Field

Freshman Neka Barford, junior MaKenna Lundrigan, and senior McKenna Johnson ALL qualified for Regionals in three events! Neka (4x800, 4x400, and 800); McKenna (4x800, 4x400, and 400), and MaKenna (4x800, 4x400, and 800) each turned in impressive District Meet performances.
