In the 1600m, Elijah ran a personal-best 4:31.41 and became the newest member of the sub 5:00 mile at Anderson High School. On Thursday, he came back the next day and ran a personal-best 9:49.30 in the 3200m. For the first time, Konrad cleared 6'4" in the high jump, jumping against the best high jumping field I have ever seen at a regular season meet!
Emma Sallee

Emma broke her own 2000 meter steeplechase school record at the our home Anderson Invitational. A unique event that we are fortunate to have at our meet, She originally broke the record last year in her first attempt at running the race. Emma has currently posted the #2 time in Division 2, and has the #7 ranking over all divisions.

The Kings boys long jump team placed fifth at the Centerville Elks Relays on April 17, with jumps by Kylie Felix at 20’4”, Michael Neal at 19’1”, and Beck Lenney at 17 '4".

Senior catcher Jules Lowery went 14-for-18 with five home runs and 14 RBIs on the week, helping Kings to a 6-0 week.

Freshman Harper McClung, senior Lucy Marketos, senior Leah Daniel, and freshman Havannah Long placed fifth at the April 17 Centerville Elks Relays in the Distance Medley with a time of 14:06.91.

The Warriors went 3-1 on the week, including a split with first-place Loveland and wins over Walnut Hills and Sidney. Some individual performances were as follows: junior Mason Hurst went 5-for 9 with three doubles, five RBIs, and two stolen bases; junior Taylor Markham went 5-for-10 with three RBIs, and five stolen bases; sophomore Braydon Kyle went 5-for-11 with four RBIs, and two stolen bases; junior Caleb Ritter picked up his second win of the season (three innings pitched, no runs, and eight strikeouts) in a 7-5 win over Walnut Hills; and sophomore Wyatt Lassen picked up his first varsity win on the mound, throwing the final four innings (no earned runs allowed) in a 7-3 win to hand Loveland their only ECC loss of the season. Loveland also gave us our only loss of the week, 3-1 in the always-competitive series. Senior Cooper Scott closed out the 7-5 win over Walnut Hills (one inning pitched with one strikeout), picking up his ECC-leading third save of the season to go with his two wins as our closer in 6 1/3 total innings pitched with 11 strikeouts after sitting out last season with Tommy John surgery.

Sophia delivered a strong performance at the Anderson Invitational, running a lifetime personal-best of 12:05.59 in the 3200 to place seventh in a highly competitive field. It’s been exciting to watch her grow in confidence and continue to perform at her best when it matters most.
Justin Evans
Senior, Little Miami Track & Field
Justin delivered a standout performance at the Anderson Invitational, breaking the school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a winning effort time of 9:43.35 that also set a new meet record. He contributed on day one as well, running on the 4x800 relay team that placed fourth. Justin continues to be a reliable and impactful mid-distance runner for the Panthers.

Senior Lincoln Falk willingly and readily accepts the challenge of playing multiple singles positions for the team and consistently puts the team first. This week, he played an exceptional third singles match against Walnut Hills, winning in three sets to help secure a team victory. Lincoln is currently 7-6. The first doubles team of senior Caleb Martini and freshman Misha Neganov has been very successful this season. This duo is competitive and works well together on the court. They secured a three-set win to help the team earn a close victory over Walnut Hills. They are currently 5–1 in the ECC and 7–2 overall. Caleb’s overall record is 10-2, and Misha has an overall record of 11-2 across multiple positions. Second doubles players senior Wyatt Braunstein, junior Adrie Juanamasn, and senior Matthew Poole have formed strong combinations that have contributed in every match. This trio is willing to play in any pairing to support the team. They have had strong wins against Elder, Milford, Walnut Hills, Kings, and Turpin. Wyatt has a combined doubles record of 11–2, Matthew is currently 7–0, and Adrien holds a 7–2 record.

Lawson, a junior first baseman, batted .500 in two league games this week with two RBIs and a run scored.

In a 4-0 ECC week, Gavin led our offense with 72 kills and .433 hitting percentage. He was third on our team in digs and tied for second with aces as well last week. He is having a fantastic season.
Kings Boys Tennis Standouts
Loveland Tennis
Alex Hill (10) and Marlee Fleming (12) played an unbelievable match against Beavercreek at first doubles. Our overall team score was tied at 2-2 and they had won the first set in a hard-fought tiebreaker to win 7-6. They needed to win the second set to win the overall match. They had some incredible serves and great volleying to win the second set 7-5. Proud of them for playing tough tennis and never losing focus to win their court and the overall match for Loveland. Awesome playing Alex and Marlee! Bode Zappin (9) had phenomenal matches against Beavercreek and Mason B at first singles this week. He has played incredible tennis all season as a freshman at a very tough position. He stays focused and takes care of business on the court. He is currently 14-0 overall at first singles and 7-0 in the ECC. Congratulations Bode on an amazing season!

Miles is a joy to have at practice, he works hard, and also has a teachable and light-hearted spirit. He helps make the high jump group a great place to be, and he is a great encourager of his teammates. Miles has just taken on learning a technical event in high jump this year and has made rapid progress. We are impressed with his results and are excited for the rest of his season.

Henry continues an excellent season with strong performances in the 3200 (9:24) and 1600 (4:18) at the Anderson Invitational. Henry's hard work, commitment to the process, and fearless racing have earned him the Athlete of the Week award.

Zach continued his consistently strong outings when he threw a complete game shutout, giving up only two hits while striking out 16 batters.

During a week when the Spartans went 4-0, senior shortstop Mac Reed hit .615 (8-for-13) with two doubles, a home run, and three stolen bases. Senior Maddox Hill was hot as well, hitting .417 and scoring seven runs and stealing six bases!

Will is a first-year player who continues to grow each week. In three matches this week, he registered 17 kills, two assists, eight blocks, and one dig. He's been a huge help to our success this year!

Allie ran a GUTSY 800 in her leg of the 4x800 at the Anderson Invitational. Allie suffered a freak injury during her race. She was wincing in pain, but found a way to accelerate to pass three runners and secure points for our team.

This week, Maddie had contributions all over the field for the Lady Spartans, scoring three goals, dishing out two assists, and scooping up three ground balls!

Jacob, a junior, has had a great season playing #1 with a tough schedule. He had a hard battle with Springboro’s #1, fought through to a victory at Little Miami, and crushed at Anderson. Akhil, a senior, had an undefeated week, beating Springboro’s #3, and Lebanon's and Anderson's #2 singles. Great job Akhil!
