A SALUTE TO OUR SPRING STATE CHAMPIONS!

The Withrow Lady Tiger track team captured the Division I State Championship on June 6.  Head coach Darren Braddix, who is leaving Withrow to become the Athletic Director at Colerain, has coached track for seventeen years and this was his first State title.  Ayanna O'Neal led the way for Withrow with a State Championship in the 100 meter hurdles and as a part of the winning 4x100 meter relay team (along with Niyah Carpenter, Doneasha Brewer, and Destiny Pennington) and second place 4x400 meter relay team (with Mercedes Smith, Carpenter, and Pennington).  The 4x200 meter relay team of Pennington, Carpenter, J'Alyiea Smith, and M. BOYS' TENNIS:  ECC UPDATE:  Congratulations to the Turpin Spartans, winners of this year's ECC boys' tennis championship for the second straight year!  Turpin's Grant Wendel earned Player of the Year honors and Spartan head coach Kate Rodgers earned Coach of the Year accolades.  OHSAA TOURNAMENT UPDATES:  Congratulations to the following Division I District qualifiers:  The Turpin doubles team of Brett Schubert and Grant Wendel (Sectional champions) and singles players Will Sultan (Anderson), Andrej Novakovic (Turpin), and Laine Harrett (Walnut Hills).  Although all of these players fell short of qualifying for the State Championships, they enjoyed tremendous seasons nevertheless!

BASEBALL:  ECC UPDATES:  Congratulations to the Milford Eagles for winning their third consecutive Eastern Cincinnati Conference title.  Players of the Year honors went to Milford's Brad Hall and Glen Este's Peyton Burdick.  Coach of the Year recognition went to Milford's Tom Kilgore

SOFTBALL:  ECC UPDATES:  The Milford Lady Eagles won their second straight Eastern Cincinnati Conference championship.  Glen Este's Brooke Parker and Milford's Kelsey Seitz were named Players of the Year, while Milford's Christy Gregory earned Coach of the Year recognition.  OHSAA TOURNAMENT RECAP:  Glen Este, Milford, and Kings each represented the ECC in separate District Championship games this spring.  Congratulations to all three squads!  POSTSEASON HONORS:  Congratulations to Glen Este's Brooke Parker and Milford's Kelsey Seitz for earning First Team Southwest District All-Metro honors this spring.  Second Team recognition went to Kings' Chrissy Ramsey and Loveland's Maggie Bailey, while Anderson's Lindsey Corbitt earned Honorable Mention honors.  See the complete list HERE.  In addition, both Brooke Parker (First Team) and Kelsey Seitz (Second Team) earned OHSFSCA All-State honors.

BOYS' TRACK:  Congratulations to our 2015 Conference champions from Loveland.  See complete results of the 2015 ECC Championships HERE.  Conference Athletes of the Year were Turpin's Andrew Patty, Kings' Tommy Bruns, and Withrow's Albert Kalala.  Coach of the Year honors went to Loveland's Jim Vanatsky.  REGIONAL QUALIFIERS:  Congratulations to the Loveland Tigers who finished fourth in the District team standings.  The following athletes have advanced to the May 27 & 29 Regional Meet:  Loveland's Nate Slagel (100 meters), Giovanni Ricci (110 hurdles and high jump), Zion Wynn (400 meters), Taylor Florence (pole vault), Jordan Davis (long jump), Michael Ralph (discus), and the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays; Withrow's Aaron Shannon (200 meters), Kymari Gates (400 meters), Albert Kalala (high jump District Champion), Rashaun O'Neal (long jump District Champion), and the 4x100 meter relay District Champion, 4x200 meter relay District Champion, and 4x400 meter relay; Turpin's Andrew Patty (800 meters) and the 4x800 meter relay; Kings' David Weed (110 and 300 hurdles); Milford's David DiSilvestro (300 hurdles District Champion);  Walnut Hills' 4x200 meter relay; Anderson's Jake Bridges (shot put); and Glen Este's Jacob Hamilton (pole vault) and Austin Snyder (discus District Champion).  See complete District Meet results HERE.  REGIONAL MEET RECAP:  Congratulations to Loveland on the Tigers' fourth place team finish at Regionals and to the Withrow Tigers who placed fifth. The following athletes reached the State Meet:  Loveland's Giovanni Ricci (110 hurdles Regional Champion and high jump), Zion Wynn (400 meters), Taylor Florence (pole vault), and the 4x200 meter relay; Withrow's Albert Kalala (high jump Regional Champion), 4x200 meter relay Regional Champion, and 4x400 meter relay; and Glen Este's Austin Snyder (discus).  Complete Regional results can be found HERESTATE MEET PLACERS:  Loveland's Giovanni Ricci finished fifth in the high jump and seventh in the 110 meter hurdles, Taylor Florence finished eighth in the pole vault, and Zion Wynn placed eighth in the 400 meters;  Withrow's Albert Kalala placed fifth in the high jump; and Withrow's 4x200 meter relay placed second.  Complete Division I State Meet results can be found HERE.

BOYS' LACROSSE:  The OHSLA Division I tournament began May 21 with Loveland defeating Springboro in an exciting overtime match.  The Tigers then downed Elder on May 23 and advanced to the Sweet 16 contest against St. Xavier.  The Tigers fell to the Bombers, but the loss can't dampen a great season by the Tigers!  Anderson competed in the OHSLA Club Division and defeated Little Miami in opening round action and Butler County LC on May 23 to advance to third round play!  The Redskins lost to Bellbrook on May 28 to conclude a successful club season of their own.  POSTSEASON HONORS:  Congratulations to Loveland's Marshal Amon, Mitchell Kenter, Sam Walther, Drew McDonald, Drew Grafflin, and Walnut Hills' Sebi Miller who earned OHSLA Division I All-Region honors.  See the complete list HERE.  Division II honors went to Milford's Jacob Behrens, Jack Young, Trenton Sneed, Justyn Messeder; Kings' Sean McLeod and Jack Reising; and Turpin's Ben Rackley and Brian Steller.  See the complete list HERE.  Anderson's Jordan O'Neil and Cory Hinaman was named to the Club Division All-Region squad.  See the complete list HERE.  The OHSLA All-State honorees included Loveland's Marshal Amon.  See the complete list HERE.  Anderson's Jordan O'Neil was named to the All-State squad in the club division.  See that list HERE.

GIRLS' LACROSSE:  POSTSEASON RECAP:  After defeating Thomas Worthington, Loveland fell 13-12 to a very good Ursuline squad in the third round of the OSLA tournament. POSTSEASON HONORS:  The following athletes earned All-Region honors by the OSLCA:  Anderson's Katie Brulport; Loveland's Savannah Lee, Katie McElveen, and Taylor Woods; Milford's Brianna McCully and Caroline Kerber; Walnut Hills' Monica Kruse and Sherie Cheng; and Kings' Sofia Corrao, Kira Doebereiner, and Sam Paulson.  Congratulations to Loveland's Savannah Lee and Kings' Sofia Corrao who earned OSLCA Second Team All-State honors as well!
